The idea for this blog began because of a research paper assigned in English class. The assignment was to choose a public issue and write an informed opinion paper about the issue. I chose this topic (pro-ana websites/pro-ana communities) because having heard about it, I was interested to see how much research (publications, scholarly journals etc.) actually existed. Over the course of writing the paper, my opinion about these websites became more definite.
